- CCCC MS 133 Brief discussion of the provenance of CCCC MS 133, stating that it was in the hands of Gerald FitzGerard, Earl of Kildare (d. 1534) and may have come to that family from a descendant of Sir Thomas Gray, author of the Scalacronica in the MS, and that it was subsequently acquired by John Bale, pp. lvi-lviii There is a description of CCCC MS 133, which contains the unique copy of Sir Thomas Gray’s Scalacronica, describing the hand of the chronicle as being a fine mid-14th century book hand and noting that it is bound with a contemporary copy of the Algorismus and that the two texts seem have been together since the early 15th century , pp. liii-lvi There is a discussion of the authorship, date and sources of the Scalacronica as found in CCCC MS 133, pp. xvii-liii Finally, there is an edition, with facing page translation, of the text of Sir Thomas Gray’s Scalacronica for the years 1272-1363 as found in CCCC MS 133, pp. 1-205
